Lisbon takes fifth for combining monetary objects with multimedia explanations. Its permanent route covers money before coins, production, Portuguese banking and the Banco de Portugal’s role. That range beats Paris’s mint-focused museum, but MIDE offers a broader economics lens.
Use the museum’s route brochure to choose themes, then check the current calendar separately; an older guide is not a promise of today’s activities. Compare a money-making tool with the object it produces. This is a stronger visit when you follow a process, rather than admire a case of coins.
