Magma can reach the surface along an elongated fissure rather than a single central opening. Fissure eruptions feed lava flows and can leave aligned vents or small cones. This photo shows activity during Kīlauea’s 2018 eruption, not its present condition.
The fountain is only part of the scene; one close view does not reveal the full crack. Look at maps or wider images to test whether vents line up. Fissures belong here because the shape of an opening helps explain the pattern of a landscape.
