Henin won seven major singles titles, four at Roland Garros. Her French titles in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 give the case a clear centre, while Australian and US Open victories prevent it from being a one-tournament story. Wimbledon is absent from her title collection; a career Grand Slam should not be attributed to her.

She beats Venus on winning majors at three tournaments rather than two, a breadth tie-break between seven-title players. King wins above her on eight Open Era majors. If repeated Wimbledon success carries more weight than tournament variety, swapping Henin and Venus is a defensible alternative.
