Juventus won in 1985 and 1996, with nine finals overall. That gives it ninth ahead of Benfica: the same two trophies, two more appearances in the deciding match. Manchester United’s three wins keep Juventus below eighth despite fewer finals.
Its 22.2% final conversion rate shows why appearances cannot replace titles in our method. The 1996 victory came on penalties against Ajax; another rule focused on converting finals would treat this record very differently.
