This portrait comes from Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 observations on 20 June 2019. The rings make Saturn recognizable, while the planet’s banded disk offers a second subject. It belongs here because a simple outline can hide several distinct structures.

Follow the rings around the disk, then compare their appearance with the atmospheric bands. The ring system is not the planet’s solid surface. This single viewpoint is useful for recognizing shape, but cannot by itself reveal the rings’ full three-dimensional arrangement.
