The 1970 Challenger R/T offered the Hemi route as well: the National Historic Vehicle Register documents a 426-powered R/T SE known as the Black Ghost. That individual car is evidence of a particular configuration, not a specification for every Challenger or the photographed example.
It beats the AMX for a more immediately legible muscle-car identity, but sits below the Z/28’s distinctive smaller-engine case. The Hemi ’Cuda represents Plymouth near the top. Readers who prefer Dodge’s proportions can swap the two; shared engine possibilities do not settle a styling judgment.
