The 1969 AMX was AMC’s two-seat alternative, offered with 290-, 343- or 390-cubic-inch V8s. The museum describes its shorter wheelbase relative to the Javelin. That compact, unusual layout earns the model a place even though our broad muscle-car scope stretches beyond traditional intermediates.
Tenth reflects a weaker claim under our influence-first criteria, not a lack of imagination. The Challenger has the clearer muscle identity; the AMX makes the sharper case for doing something different. If originality matters more than the established formula, it deserves a substantial promotion.
