Prague earns eighth for a first walk that can connect the Old Town, Charles Bridge and the castle area. Begun in 1357, the bridge’s towers and sculpture make crossing the river an attraction in itself.
We favour that visual sequence over Vienna’s palace-led trip, but Lisbon offers a wider contrast between neighbourhoods and waterfront monuments. Start with the river crossing, then leave time for the castle courtyards. Choose Prague over our higher picks if a historic walking core matters more than varied big-city activities.
