A portico is a covered porch supported by columns. At the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, six fluted Roman Doric columns form the prominent portico. The triangular pediment above them and the roofed area behind them are related, but they are not the same feature.

Look sideways as well as straight at the façade: depth helps distinguish a porch from a flat arrangement of columns. It earns a place because architecture organises arrival, not just decoration. Use the columns at #10 to identify its parts, then name the whole entrance space.
