Casa Batlló makes a useful lesson out of light: Gaudí’s blue-tiled lightwell uses darker colours above and larger windows below to distribute daylight. Look beyond the colourful façade to the relationship between windows, ventilation and the spaces people occupied.

This beats Sant Pau for a compact visit. La Pedrera ranks third for its broader explanation of domestic life and building design. Batlló could win if colour matters most to you. Check ticket inclusions; the house’s architecture deserves attention alongside the visitor experience.
