The original Game Boy pairs a monochrome screen with portable games such as Tetris, Super Mario and Pokémon, documented in Nintendo’s hardware history. Its attraction is concentration: a puzzle or adventure you can carry, without needing a television. This is the original model, not Game Boy Color.
It beats DS because we favour that simple portable identity over touch-screen experimentation. NES ranks higher for the home-game mix. Put DS above it if you prefer two-screen play; put Game Boy above NES if portability matters most. Those different priorities explain the close sixth-place decision.
